Foxyguy66 presents "A 'Measure' of Time." A site dedicated to Measuring Glasses.

About Me

My name is Matt and I've been collecting glasses most of my life. The collection used to be quite varied and vast but, now is down to my biggest passion - Measuring Glasses. I'm only interested the 8oz./1 cup glasses, without a spout. I am a Member of the Promotional Glass Collectors Association - www.pgcaglassclub.com You can visit this site and see more than 12,000 Cartoon & Promotional Drinking Glasses, including of course, Measuring Glasses.

Basic Information

Measuring Glasses were offered for many years, mainly from the '40s through the '80s and into the '90s, as a promotional tool. These glasses were offered by Banks, Saving & Loans, Liquor Stores, Appliance Companies, Food & Beverage Companies, Dry Cleaners, Grocery Stores, Insurance Companies, Jewelers, and Bars & Taverns, just to name some examples. These businesses wanted to encourage their customers to return and to also offer a 'Thank you' for their patronage. There are many more out there yet to be discovered and likely from sources unnamed here. Most glasses were issued with one color but, many others had two, three, or even four colors.

What You'll Find Here

What you'll find here is my Personal Collection, which is NOT FOR SALE. I simply want to share what I have found and provide pictures and any information for anyone else who is interested in this unique collectible. As I acquire more glasses, they will be added to my Collection. Check back often to see the new entries to the Collection! You will also find pages to my "Want List" and my "For Sale/Trade" list. The quality of the pictures throughout my Want List varies as the pictures have come from different sources.

Finally...

I want to acknowledge and pay tribute to a fellow Collector of Measuring Glasses - Pam Stice. MANY of the pictures on my "Want List" were provided by her, through her website - Measuring Glasses by Pam Stice. You can go to her site by following this link: www.measuringglass.net I encourage you to visit her site as she has many more glasses with pictures than I do, and also has her own "Wish List" & "For Sale" list. Please check her site out and mention that I sent you!
